Gender Equality Policy and Strategy

Whilst studying Geography and International Development at the University of East Anglia, my passion for gender equality only intensified. The uncertainty due to the current socio-economic climate as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak has only exasperated the previous gender equality crisis globally, with increased domestic violence against women and children, causing the gender gap to only increase.

I hope that our work, collectively, will help support those who need it most. Society needs to become more resilient to shocks; it’s unacceptable that feelings of uncertainty due to unexpected societal problems are taken out on vulnerable groups.

It’s an honour to work with the AHO to present strategies to help support those vulnerable to domestic violence during the chaos of COVID-19.
