Remi Looi-Somoye
Policy and Research
My name is Remi and I am from the UK. I am a PhD student at University College London researching new drugs to treat leukaemia in children. I’ve always had an interest in science because I like understanding how things work the way they do and I want to help make a difference by helping people. Working in a research lab I came to realise that even though a lot of what I do is for the purpose of helping people live better, healthier lives not everyone is able to receive the benefits of research. I joined as a volunteer for Africa Health Organisation because I want to increase equality in healthcare, so that everyone is able to benefit from that research like mine.
