Léa Berdah
Policy and Research
I am a twenty-year-old French student in final year of European Social and Political Studies at UCL, London. Specialising in Human Geography and World Politics, I am passionate about the work in Geopolitics and International Development. As my dissertation project, I am studying the social, health and geopolitical effects of land-grabbing in West Cameroon.
Last year, I have done an internship as Event and Administration Volunteer at Student Action for Refugees (STAR) charity’s national office in London during which I got to help organise fundraising events, manage administrative responsibilities, and evaluate the progress and impact of STAR’s campaigns. I furthered my involvement in the settlement and inclusion of refugees and asylum seekers in the UK through campaigning for equal access to university as the Treasurer of UCL STAR society.
Such experience gave me the desire to pursue a career in the humanitarian sector. Africa Health Organisation appears as an inspiring agency, presenting a unique chance to contribute to such an important cause of both personal and global importance
