Elisabeth Gowens
Gender Equality Policy and Strategy and Proofreading
I am a Literature and Philosophy graduate from the University of East Anglia, and a Philosophy, Politics and Economics of Health postgraduate from University College London. I have extensive experience working within NHS palliative and rehabilitative healthcare and am an experienced researcher and writer on a variety of philosophical and health-based issues. My academic interests include climate change and health; utilising the principles of disaster risk reduction in social epidemiology; and addressing the gendered determinants of health worldwide. I have held numerous voluntary positions for charities such as Anthony Nolan and Safe Haven Norwich, as well as research roles at global health think tanks such as Polygeia. In addition to currently working as a rehabilitation assistant, I am excited to contribute to the mission of the Africa Health Organisation.
