Annika Wijeratne
Policy and Research
My name is Annika Wijeratne, and I was born in Netherlands until I moved to Birmingham, United Kingdom with my family. I am currently in my final year studying Pharmacology and I am hopeful to study International Development Msc. From the scientific foundation gained through studying, I have a strong desire to channel these skills in a more practical pursuit; for instance, policy changes in the healthcare system and working towards the NGO sector. My intentions studying international development MSc will enable me to reflect on emerging health and development issues for instance covid 19, poverty and inequality, inter relationships that exist between global politics, public health and international development; this will further deepen my awareness with current affairs. I am excited to part of the African Health Organisation and working with like-minded individuals to contribute to a common goal.
