Ana Luiza Gonzaga
Gender Equality Policy and Strategy
My name is Ana Luiza, I am Brazilian and have recently graduated from Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais with a BA (Hons) in International Relations. Throughout my time at University, I have focused on human rights and international development, finding particular value in gender and race equality and the empowerment of women and girls. In Brazil, I have observed and experienced how deep-rooted the inequalities in health, wellbeing and security within different groups of people are, and therefore it is a personal goal of mine to contribute to making a difference in tackling inequality in its multiple forms. In acknowledging my privileges as a white woman, I am hoping to pursue a career in politics that will positively impact the lives of many women not as privileged as myself.
I am very honoured to be joining the AHO’s talented team as a Gender Equality Policy Strategy Volunteer, for I believe that the collective empowerment of women and the improvement of equity in health is so incredibly important for social change
