Amy Plummer

Gender Equality Policy and Strategy

My name is Amy, I am from Oregon in the United States but am living in London currently pursuing a PhD at St. Mary’s University in Twickenham studying Politics and Social Policy where my research is focused on human trafficking/modern day slavery.  I have a BA International Studies from Portland State University, an MA Human Rights from Birkbeck University and an MA Woman and Child Abuse from London Metropolitan University.  Human trafficking and exploitation in general is a global issue with various consequences, including mental and physical health problems that many countries are still working to understand and develop proper healthcare for trafficking victims, including in Africa.  I am passionate about human rights, the work Africa Health Organisation is doing for gender equality is amazing and I am so excited to join the team and join the efforts to fight for equality for women and girls.
