African emigrants to Italy include Italian citizens and residents originally from Africa. Immigrants from Africa officially residing in Italy in 2015 numbered about 1,000,000 residents. The African migrants specifically use the coast of the country Libya to travel across the Mediterranean Sea in large numbers hoping to land on Italian shores. Although departing from Libya, most are from Ghana, Senegal, Nigeria and Eritrea.

AFRICA HEALTH ORGANISATION IN ITALY

In Italy, AHO will do the following programmes:

Set up offices in major cities with large number of Africans
Work with Italian government to provide health and social care to Africans
Work in partnership with others to deliver projects in Italy
Look for partnership in Italy to deliver projects in Africa
To recruit skilled health workforce in Italy
To set up health exchange programmes between Italy and Africa
Create fundraising programmes to raise funds in Italy for projects in Africa
